Career Highlights
After graduation from law school, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Rutgers-Camden Law Journal, Susan became a Law Clerk to Judge Daniel H. Huyett, III, of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, 1974-1976. She then became an associate and later a partner in the Litigation Department of Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis. In 1985, she became one of the founding partners of Hoyle, Fickler, Herschel & Mathes LLP.
Susan has been an active litigator, particularly in the field of toxic torts and products liability litigation. She has handled many of the major matters in these areas since the Firm's inception, including litigation involving toxic shock syndrome, nursing bottle syndrome, vinyl chloride, and allegedly defective airbags and toasters. Susan’s trial experience includes serving as first chair in trials in matters involving AIDS, asbestos in buildings, polychlorinated biphenyls, and medical malpractice.
