Career Highlights
After graduation from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1970, Steve served as Law Clerk for the Honorable Arlin M. Adams in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He then began a career in commercial litigation. As a partner at Dilworth, Paxson, he served on the executive committee and was elected managing partner. As a partner at Hoyle, Fickler, Herschel & Mathes LLP, he has been in charge of such matters as the defense of a glass bottle manufacturer in a multi-million dollar claim of theft of trade secrets; prosecution of an insurance coverage action by a pharmaceutical company to obtain insurance coverage for claims of HIV infections; defense of international hotel chain in multi-million dollar breach of contract and RICO actions pending in Pennsylvania federal and state courts; and a successful emergency appeal to the Third Circuit for a stay of execution on a $71,000,000 default judgment entered in a securities fraud and RICO litigation.
