The Hoyle Law
Firm is informal and collegial, but demands excellence. The Firm has a flexible
attitude toward arrangements regarding work hours. Our computer system enables
our lawyers to telecommute when necessary. As the needs of our lawyers demand,
we are willing to accommodate such arrangements as part time schedules for
both associates and partners, special work hours, and leaves of absence, as
long as the Firm believes that the arrangement will not be detrimental to the
highest standards of service to our clients.
We are looking for lawyers who combine creative analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid knowledge of the law and the ability to communicate effectively. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to a policy of strict non-discrimination in hiring and advancement. New associates will be involved in as many aspects of the Firm’s practice as possible. Typical assignments include not only legal research, but also attendance at trials, depositions, closings, and client conferences, on behalf of both traditional and pro bono clients.
All associates are formally evaluated once a year, and recently hired associates receive an additional mid-year evaluation during their first year at the Firm. The results of the evaluation are discussed with the associates by partners on the Associates Committee. In addition, associates receive feedback informally throughout the year from the senior lawyers with whom they are working. Associates are eligible for a merit bonus at the end of each calendar year. In addition, to encourage client development, associates receive 15% of the fees collected up to a cap from clients whom they introduce to the Firm. A stipend is paid to entry level associates to cover moving expenses and bar review courses. Associates can take four weeks vacation, and the Firm provides a competitive package of health, retirement, and insurance benefits.
